I've got two motherboards that i think are bad because all that is working are the fans
one is a elite mini atx and the other is a msi mini.

Re: no power to motherboard
Wed, March 8, 2006 - 7:09 PMIt could potentially be your power supply as well or the power supply cables. If you have a spare power supply or one that you can pull from another computer that you know is good. I would try that first before assuming that two motherboards are bad.
Also, do you have everything except the power supply plugged into the motherboards? Even the video card. The motherboard will make a beep if it is powered on without a video card plugged in. That is assuming that video isn't built into your motherboard.

Re: no power to motherboard
Sun, May 14, 2006 - 7:36 AMI just recently built a mostly new comp, out of the box the first mobo was bad. Heres what it did: everything was perfect and plugged in, but even though the power wasnt on just the cpu fan came on but only at like half speed. Tried almost everything - solution MOBO was broke - i sent mine back.
Also I though maybe it was my power supply too ( I did end up buying a new one) but its is as I understand it so very unlikely.
